ASUS FX503-The Compact, Powerful Windows 10 Gaming Laptop

A few weeks ago, I took a look at the new Google Pixelbook and was quite impressed with it overall, especially considering the price tag ($999). Today, I’m excited to tell you about another great Windows 10 laptop that offers similar specs at a very similar price point-the ASUS rog 503. This 13.3 gaming laptop features an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and comes with a 256GB solid-state drive and also packs in NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics!

Overview
ASUS has quietly been building up a name for itself in PC gaming circles over recent years. The company’s ROG Strix line of gaming laptops has earned an impressive reputation thanks to its combination of great specs and sleek design. The next step was to try and build a laptop that could appeal to both hard-core gamers and those who were looking for more than just power under their desk. The ASUS FX503 is here to answer that call with some exciting specs of its own: Kaby Lake Intel Core processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card as well as support for Thunderbolt 3 connections. But is it enough? Let’s find out.

Design
ASUS has announced two new ASUS notebooks. The first model is ASUS Zephyrus S GX701 which is an ultra slim notebook with a 15.6-inch display and is as thin as 17.9mm at its thickest point. The second model is Asus VivoBook S15 which sports a 15.6 inch display and a narrow 7mm bezel. This ensures that users enjoy amazing full HD visuals on their PC without compromising comfort in their palms thanks to its compact size of just 376 x 252 x 17.9 mm weighing at just 1KG.

Display
FHD IPS 1920×1080 or QHD IPS 3200 x 1800 display technology; optional multi-touch touchscreen with a super narrow bezel that’s ideal for seamless multitasking. ASUS SonicMaster Premium audio, co-developed with award-winning ICEpower® Bang & Olufsen Technology for crystal clear sound. Weighs only 2.6 lbs.

Hardware
The ASUS FX503 is equipped with a 15.6 inch (16:9 aspect ratio) display at 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. This laptop has an advanced panel with wide 178° viewing angles. Powered by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics processor, it has 8GB GDDR5 video memory and supports DirectX 12 API as well as NVIDIA® OptimusTM technology to optimize battery life without sacrificing performance.

Software
Not only does it offer powerful graphics and audio capabilities, but also features an industry leading battery life for extended gaming time on NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX10 series graphics. On top of that, gamers can enjoy custom keyboard lighting options to suit their mood. ASUS FX503 is set to be one of best laptops for gaming in 2017. And with a starting price as low as $799 USD , it’s not hard to see why.

Performance
It’s Not Just for Gamers: Don’t let its compact size fool you—this laptop is a gaming powerhouse. The ASUS FX503 is VR Ready and can handle both new and demanding games with ease. Powered by 7th Generation Intel Core i5 Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2GB graphics card, and up to 8GB DDR4 RAM — it handles everything from everyday productivity tasks to multimedia apps with speed and agility.

Verdict
The ASUS ROG Strix Hero II is our favorite gaming laptop right now because of its powerful GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card and $1000 price tag. It’s not only an impressive laptop in terms of specs and features, but its chassis alone makes it stand out in a sea of competitors. We appreciate that it’s thin and light enough to be an ideal daily driver for commuters without sacrificing performance. But what we love most about it is how much value it brings to your dollar. If you have around $1200 to spend on a powerful gaming machine that can handle modern AAA titles at their highest settings with 60 frames per second or more then look no further than MSI’s GV62 8RD model!
