The Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise is the only one to not have won an IPL trophy. Since 2008’s inception of the Indian Premier League, RCB has seen many top players join their team. Although they have made it to the playoffs a few times, they have not been able to win the silverware over the past 15 editions.
Virat Kohli, former India captain, resigned from his position as RCB’s Captain before the tournament in 2022. Faf du Plessis was a former player of CSK and was signed by RCB in the mega auction that preceded the 2022 season. He was given the leadership position. Faf was a great batsman, but he also managed to lead the team into the playoffs last year.
RCB will continue to strive for its maiden IPL Live 2023, just like every year. The squad includes, among others, Australia’s power hitters Glenn Maxwell and Du Plessis. India’s pacer Mohammed Siraj and Wanindu Hasaranga are also included. Dinesh Karthik is another top-tier name.
RCB was one step closer to making it to the summit clash in the previous tournament. However, they lost the Qualifier match against Rajasthan Royals at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium and were eliminated from the race. They were entering the tournament with similar intentions.
On Friday, February 17, the BCCI released the IPL 2023 schedule. RCB will launch their campaign against Mumbai Indians on April 2, 2023, at their Bengaluru home ground, M Chinnaswamy stadium. The league stage will feature 14 games, including seven home and away games, as with all other teams.
